Shouldn't legislation be passed prohibiting banks from charging racketeering rates for consumer loans?

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced legislation that would impose a 15% cap on rates for all consumer loans, including plastic.

Banks, including those getting bail out money, are gouging consumers by raising their credit card rates in hopes of raising cash to cover the industry’s bad bets in the housing market.

For example, Citigroup Inc. has told cardholders their rates could soar to almost 30% if a single payment is missed.
Capital One Financial Corp. is raising many cardholders’ rates to nearly 18% — even for people who pay their bills on time and haven’t missed any payments.
Bank of America Corp., Wells Fargo & Co. and American Express Co. also announced large rate increases.
This is a despicable policy punishing customers including those on fixed incomes and responsible families who have been laid off and cannot afford to pay the total monthly balance.

Yes there are people who irresponsibly max out their cards. Tough luck for them in my opinion.
But for those who believe in free market economics I say you are living in a delusional world.
Free market economics only works in an ethical environment. Unfortunately, that is not the reality we live in.

I am emailing my Congressional Representatives and asking for their support of his bill. Will you please do the same?

I just need a few questions answered from a paralegal about your work environment and employer.
This would really help me out and I would be forever grateful for any/all help.

–Did the paralegal have any formal education, or was he/she trained on the job?
–If the paralegal has a formal education, was it from a 2yr., 4yr., Certificate program?
–Was the paralegal training program approved by the ABA? Does the paralegal feel
that ABA approved programs are necessary?
–Does the paralegal feel that his/her education prepared them for their first entry-level job?
–How long has the paralegal been working in the profession?
–Does the paralegal feel that his/her employer gives him/her enough responsibility?
–Does the paralegal have his/her own office?
–Is the paralegal treated with respect by his/her employer?
–Does the paralegal have his/her own secretary? Does the paralegal share a secretary?
–How computer literate is the paralegal? Does he/she utilize that knowledge?
–Has the paralegal attended a trial with his/her employer? Was he/she permitted to sit at counsel table with the attorney supervisor.
–How ethical does the paralegal think that his/her employer is?
–What type of benefits does the paralegal receive? Health Insurance? Paid vacation?
Life Insurance? Etc.???
–Does the paralegal receive compensation for overtime?
–Does the paralegal feel that he/she should be compensated for overtime?
–What is the salary range for paralegals in the market and specialty that the interviewee works in? (Some paralegals are reluctant to answer questions relating to pay and others are very open).
–Does the paralegal have the freedom to come and go from the office without reporting to his/her supervisor?
–Does the paralegal specialize in one particular area of law.
–Does the paralegal know anything about National Paralegal Associations?
–How does the paralegal feel about possible licensing of paralegals?
–Does the paralegal do any pro-bono work for attorneys or other law-related organizations? If so, How much time is devoted (weekly, monthly or yearly)?
–Does the paralegal participate in any continuing legal education courses?
–Is the paralegal satisfied with her/his job? If they had the chance, would they choose paralegal as a career again??

My buddy sent me an email about joining a great opportunity to make money fast. I knew it was a scamming type thing when I saw the title, but I thought someone had just broken into his account. I get a text message the other day from him asking if I checked it (I had but didn’t tell him I had checked it out because I saw where it was going). His wife put something up on her Facebook about it and some other people questioned it. Now the real problem is he is coming back into town this weekend and wanted to see if we wanted to grab a beer. He has been a great friend for a long time, but I have a feeling he is going to try to get us to join. It costs like 9 or something like that to join. I don’t want to lose a dear friend because I don’t want a friend trying to get me into something, that I don’t think is legit. It isn’t exactly a pyramid scheme, but it is not even close to an ethical practice. They do however receive compensation for getting new reps (should be a huge warning sign). Everywhere I have gone I have seen the same stuff that a scamming company would say. The company name is Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing and I don’t know how to tell my friend he is getting scammed (he is not a dumb guy at all)or what to tell him when he asks.

Is Jim Cramer truly for the Investor?

I happen to like Jim Cramer as he has a lot of good idea’s but I don’t think that is is one of them. In this offering he proposes to allow paying clients to see his trades in I believe what is his Action Alerts Plus Portfolio and then the client can, if they want to follow his thinking, follow him in. I don’t think that this is a wise move by him because with his popular platform he has the ability to move stocks, especially if many of his followers jump on after him. That results in him being able to sell into the crowd that follows him in. If he were to make a pledge not to trade out for one month, that would make me feel a lot better about this offering. I wouldn’t do it unless he promised not to trade out for a certain length of time, would you? I’m not saying that he is doing anything wrong, as a matter of fact I believe him to be an ethical spokesman for the markets but I just don’t particularly like the feel of this offer myself. Do you?

Will pointing a parked domain name to a existing website page help or hurt Google rankings?

Will pointing a parked domain (ex: "videogames.com") to a existing product-specific page (video games) on our high ranking (PR6) website (ex: "arcadegames.com") in any way penalize our existing Google ranking, and if not, will Google also pickup and index this new domain and its landing page and display it in searches for "video games" for both arcadegames.com and videogames.com ?

We are holding about 50 parked domains that specifically relate to products we sell online that are just pointed to our existing website’s home page, and we are thinking about now pointing these domains to product-specific pages within our site, if this makes sense and not affect our existing Google website and webpage ranking – Any Expert advise ?
